“Puerto Vallarta is a city with a strong focus on tourism”
Carlos was born in Tomatlán, Jalisco, where he lived for the first eight years of his life. When he was young, his family moved to Puerto Vallarta, so he was one of those privileged to know the small town this city used to be, growing up on the mountain and swimming in the rivers.
“I remember that as a child we would go to El Pitillal or Mismaloya, riding our bikes, and it was a great adventure to pedal through those dirt paths and natural surroundings to reach our destination.”
Carlos completed his basic studies in Puerto Vallarta, studied Tourist Business Administration at Arkos University, and then completed a Master’s degree in Administration through UNIVA. He always liked working and participated in the family business from an early age. During his adolescence, he worked in the restaurant his parents managed. Later, his father acquired the company “Viva Tours” in 1993, where Carlos has worked ever since.
“I had a marvelous upbringing, since I always worked in a field that I enjoyed very much, the field of tourism. In addition, I would take advantage of each moment I had to escape with my friends and go camping in Punta de Mita and stroll the virgin beaches of Nayarit.”
He is currently heading the company his father founded and has also been named vice president of CANACO (The PV Chamber of Commere). He believes that by being part of this organization he can do a lot for the city and likes being part of Puerto Vallarta’s growth as one of the most competitive tourist destinations in the world. The past few years have demonstrated this potential.
What he likes most about Puerto Vallarta is that it offers a lot of opportunity for growth. It is a clean city that continues to follow Mexican traditions, constantly organizing events that foster the customs of this country. But above all, it is a place that possesses natural attractions that can’t be bought, all wrapped in a relaxing and safe environment.
“I live very happily here in Puerto Vallarta, despite having visited other cities in different parts of the country and the world. I have always thought of Puerto Vallarta as the best place to live. I love the climate, the friendliness of the people, and the city offers everything necessary grow as a great tourist destination.”
