Bead necklaces of every color and shape combined with natural stones are from Barbara Givens, Fancine Boxer, Barbara Peters, Sabina Sangerman, Cinthia Corona and Oscar Tavitas, who also makes unusual bracelets. Silver creations by Citlali of Guadalajara are always a special find. Sculptors represented will be the world famous José Sacal, Pepé Gutierrez, Alicia Bueno and a catalog selection from Victor Gutierrez,
who is featured on our website.

Our "Floral Fantasy" show of watercolors by Drucilla Desabrais and Sonia Lindemann, as well as oils by Kimberly Porras, Antonio Ayala and Federico Carmona will continue to grace the walls.

Don´t miss this show on Dec. 17, just in time for Christmas giving. Galeria AL is showing the abstract and minimalist works of Eduardo Mejorado, Galeria Pacifico will have realistic work by Bill White and Galeria Corona will feature nudes by Lourdes Munguia.

Other art walk galleries will feature group shows of various artists. Manuel Valles Gomez has just sent in a fabulous collection of his hand carved, signed and decorated wood masks, and his showing of new art works entitled "Rhapsody in Blue" will be on Dec. 26 to Jan. 8..

The Westin Resort is featuring art by Genny Claro, Silvia Aranda, Patricia Avellaneda, José Baldi and Steve Fischer in their passageway to the lobby bar.

CONDO NEWS

The latest report from Ron Walker on the ongoing suits concerning the Grand Venetian and Peninsula Sur condos, which were built much taller than the former 10 story limit for hotels, due to political manipulation, states that on Nov. 28, 2008 a judge found the Peninsula project illegal and has ordered that the project conform to the current building codes for the North Shore hotel zone. This would mean the removal of several floors, many of which are already sold and inhabited. Owners would have legal recourse and lawsuits will take time, but of most interest is that Peninsula will not be able to issue clear title to any purchaser so "buyer beware" in these cases.

TRIBUTE TO SALLY CONLEY

A beloved member of our community has suddenly departed from us recently and she will be missed by so many, especially the children she has helped to read in her adorable "Library of the Fig Tree" which she opened in her home for the chilren of Pitillal, offering them the opportunity to read, write, draw. paint and check out books. Her fund raisers were always a great success and she put so much of herself into the project. One person can make such a difference to young minds.
