Hola everyone,

Philo here.

The season is in full swing now. Lots of people everywhere. What a great time to visit Mexico. The dollar is worth 25% more then it was a year ago. Lots of bargains also. My sister flew down a couple of weeks ago, non stop, from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta for $316.00. Haven't seen prices like that in 7 years.

Friday was an incredible evening. Over 130 people purchased tickets to our APERCH benefit. After expenses we have over 14,000 pesos left for our pueblo projects. Thank you everyone. Special thanks to Tateware, Al and Zoe, The Kindergarten Christmas Choir, the La Cruz Children's Folkloric Dancers, and to the Mexican Shuffle Band. Congratulations to Tom Lilienthal for winning the Martin Guitar in the raffle.

Noche Mexicana, Wednesday, Jan 14th, 2009, is the night of our 2nd, in a series of 4, benefits for the community. This fiesta will be for the La Cruz Senior Center. 150 pesos. Get your tickets soon. We are always sold out for these events.

Get ready! Tuesday Dec 23rd, 7 p.m. Posada de La Cruz. Takes place in the Marina at the Amphitheater. A Christmas play with Washboard Leon as the newborn baby, in a diaper no less. I play the devil. It's followed by Philo and the Mexican Shuffle band with many guest musicians. No cover! 100 pesos if you want to partake of the Mexican dinner. Tickets for the dinner available here at Philo's. All proceeds go to the Friendship Club of La Cruz.

Get ready again. Thursday, Christmas day pot luck at Philo's. You bring a dish to serve 8 to 10 people and we furnish the turkey. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. 50 peso charge at the door to cover some of the expenses. Immediately following dinner Santa will arrive and give out gifts to the children of La Cruz. Each year we give out between 350 and 400 gifts. Come early to get a good seat.

And really get ready. New Year's Eve party at Philo's. Music, Spirits, Food, Romance, Intrigue, Comedy. No Cover. No Charge.

We here at Philo's are overwhelmed by your generosity! My casita is full to the ceiling with toys that you have donated to the Children of La Cruz. To all of you who dropped off your gifts when I wasn't here and I didn't get a chance to thank personally , thank you very much! Santa will be very busy Christmas day.
