Hola everyone Philo here.
On again, off again, On again. All though the Gathering of the Tribe Music event will take on a different form this year it will take place non the less. One of the problems we were having with the schedule was that it was conflicting with another very important and very cool event held in Mendocino California, called the Mendocino 70's reunion festival. Soooo we have decided to join forces.
This event will be held on September 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th at the Woodlands park grounds located very near Mendocino. It is set in the woods, near a river, with plenty of Camping space. There are also cabins available but you must act fast. My band, will be playing at 10pm on Saturday evening, the 6th of September. So far it looks like Oscar (sax), Peggy (bass), and Leon (washboard), will all be there. We will also be jamming with an all star group of musicians Sunday afternoon. There will lots of great bands playing and a lot of fun had by one and all.

Another milestone folks. Mark your calenders. Thursday July 31st, we will celebrate Oscar Fuentes birthday here at Philo's. Most of you know Oscar as my Sax player and sometime lead vocalist and guitar player. The musicians are all chomping at the bit to come help celebrate Oscars good fortune of staying alive one more year. Should have a complete line up for you in the next Philo's Notes. Come early and get a good seat. We will be rocking until the wee hours.

The Marina, the Marina, the Marina. For the good of it or for the bad of it, it is an awesome presence here in our little village of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. I have to say they are doing a great job, and it looks beautiful, although that does little to alleviate the sinking feeling that I get when I think about how much it is changing our little community.
