Hey, Hey, Hey, tonight and tomorrow night my friend Renato will be sitting in with my band. Renato is from Belgium and plays the fiddle. He's a special kid and man does he smoke on the fiddle. Come by and check it out. You are gonna love it.
Heads up again everyone. The 3rd in a series of 4 benefits that we do for the community will be held here at Philo's on the 18th of February. This benefit will be for my favorite charity the Friendship Club of La Cruz. This is an organization that we put together to help children with medical problems and services. So.... for 150 pesos you get a home cooked Mexican meal and a night of entertainment with Philo and the Mexican Shuffle Band, Al and Zoe, and the children of La Cruz Folklorico Dance Troupe. Get your tickets soon. These events are a lot of fun and they sell out quickly.
In conjunction with the Benefit there will be a silent auction the same evening. We are asking for items in excellent condition, such as art, jewelry, furniture, appliances, and Mexican crafts. Superbowl Sunday Party at Philo's. The game starts at 5 pm our time so come party with us.
The San Sebastian trip is still tentatively set for Sunday February 15th, Valentines Day weekend. By the time you receive the next Philo's Notes we will have locked down the date. You know the drill. We take up to 100 people, including the Mexican Shuffle Band, to the 400 year old silver mining village of San Sebastian, one hour and forty five mins from La Cruz, for a night of music, food and Tequila. The cost per person is 700 pesos and includes a hotel room, a great catered dinner, a music concert and a brunch the following morning. What a deal. If you wish to be included send me an email and I will put you on the list.
