Hola everyone,

Philo here.

Halloween is just around the corner. Next Friday night to be exact. If your looking for something special to do that night, dress up (or not) and come by Philo's and help give away candy to the 2 to 3 hundred children who will be stopping by to trick or treat. It's an absolute blast. The kids here love it and their costumes are great. Bring a bag of candy with you.

Heads up everyone. Willie from Willie and Lobo will be playing a special concert here next Saturday night. Come early and grab a good seat. No cover and the music starts around 8:30 Jalisco time..

I have been having some fruitful meetings with the Marina here in La Cruz. They have just opened a free dingy dock complete with trash receptacles. All of you that are intending to use the anchorage this year now have a secure and close to town, place to park your dingy. Next step will be a cruiser park complete with a grass lawn, picnic benches and multiple grills to cook your favorite meat. When it opens we will be starting a special weekly party night for cruisers and friends. I will keep you updated on the progress.

Last call for the trip with Philo and the Mexican Shuffle Band to San Sebastian del Oeste, which will be on Sunday, Nov 30th. The cost this year for a room, a gourmet dinner, the concert and brunch the next day will be $70 per person. If you are interested send me an email or stop by the Club and add your name to the list.

If you would like to watch a 5 min video of San Sebastian, click on the address below.

Stinky farts may help regulate blood pressure

Gas relaxes the blood vessels to prevent hypertension in mice, study finds

LiveScience

A smelly rotten-egg gas in farts controls blood pressure in mice, a new study finds.

The unpleasant aroma of the gas, called hydrogen sulfide (H2S), can be a little too familiar, as it is expelled by bacteria living in the human colon and eventually makes its way, well, out.

The new research found that cells lining mice's blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help keep the rodents' blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). This gas is "no doubt" produced in cells lining human blood vessels too, the researchers said…….
