“The most important value is family”
Born here on March 26, 1981, while his father was mayor of Puerto Vallarta. Salvador grew up in a very close family alongside his siblings, Rafael and Lupita. Although his father had to travel frequently because of his job, his mother always knew how to organize time so both parents could teach family values.
“The person I have most admired since my childhood, whom I have admired as a person and as a political figure, is my father.”
He completed elementary school in Guadalajara but in junior high went to a military school in the United States, where he gained skills that would shape him for the rest of his life. He returned to Guadalajara to study at the university, earning a degree in International Commerce at ITESO.
“I feel I have achieved many things because I have always been close to my family; and in the end, one looks out for the family.”
Despite living in different cities, Puerto Vallarta is home, where he started to develop his own business, always having had the vision of creating a large corporation.
“I always had a calling to participate in some type of public service, so when Mayor Javier Bravo invited me to work in the office of social development, I was eager to accept. I am very happy with our achievements because we have implemented many social service programs that didn’t exist before.” What he loves most about Vallarta are its people and their warmth, referring to people he has met in the neighborhoods farthest from downtown. Because of his position, he has been able to work with these people, and they always provide him with smiles and support him however they can.
“The downtown historic district, the mountains, the rivers and the cityscapes are things I really appreciate about Puerto Vallarta. People born here are happy, having been able to enjoy the city for such a long time. I identify with our senior citizen community because they are grateful to the town for all the blessings they have received from this paradise.”
“Chava,” as many call him, considers himself a practical person, who prefers to see things as they are and doesn’t look for complications. “I feel things can be achieved one step at a time, and I’m convinced that Puerto Vallarta is a destination that must be taken care of to protect its magic, which is what sets it apart from the rest of the world. It’s a difficult, but not impossible, task that can be achieved with the help of the community.”
His favorite places:
