-Lunachia
This is a handmade jewelry company established by Monica Martin. Lunachia, is named after Chia, the goddess of the moon according to Colombian mythology. She represents everything that is beautiful, brilliant and honorable. Her essence is stamped into every one of Monica’s designs, from the robust and organic to the delicate and romantic. Each piece of jewelry is tied to the history of a woman who has left her mark on the world in one way or another. Monica sells her work at Peace of Art, one of the most picturesque stores in the Bucerias Art Walk Plaza. She also sells clothing embellished with her own designs, as well as women’s accessories. You can also find Mexican crafts and decor items.
-Sandrina
Through her work with paint, Sandrina presents scenes that invite rest and relaxation through their narrative content as well as their delicate, soft colors. In her acrylics “Friday Afternoon” and “Punta de Mita,” she uses a rich palette to juxtapose tonalities of subdued contrasts. In her festive watercolor “Martinis,” a free and expressive work, she delineates the contour of characters in ink, in restful postures without any transmission of rigidity. With just a little over a decade having fun with painting, Sandrina maintains her original imaginative freedom and is fueled by a natural intuition that renders artistic results of palpable freshness.
-Mark’s
Mark’s Bar and Gill, the trendy place in Rivera Nayarit, won three categories in VirtualVallarta’s Readers’ Choice Awards: best in general, best in the North Shore and best service. Superb Mediterranean and Asian cuisine served in an unmatched ambiance combined with experience in all areas are the factors that define Mark’s. Chef Jan Benton is passionate about food and has created a menu characterized by simplicity, profound flavor and artistic presentation. Savor the incredible scallops on scallops mousse or the ricotta gnocchi with seafood prepared and presented in an expert manner on their exclusive dinnerware. The cocktails taste great and are served in blown-glass containers that can be purchased at Jan’s boutique right across the street. The desserts are irresistible, such as the popular trio sampler plate. Whether you dine on the intimate patio or in the elegant but casual candlelit interior or at the bar, this will be a night to remember. And be sure to visit the new JM Boutique Gallery to appreciate the art and new crafts for this season.
-Jan Marie Boutique
This second store was recently opened and offers an eclectic collection of art and Mexican crafts, in addition to home accessories. Hand-painted ceramic dinnerware designed exclusively for the boutique is available in interchangeable colors. This season, they have added handcrafted furniture made of wormwood and embellished with copper to their catalogue, in addition to lamps and copper lighting fixtures that can be custom ordered. Silver and gold hand-stamped mirrors, blown-glass containers and onyx plates are good examples of the excellent workmanship of master Mexican artisans.
