NOVEMBER NEWS
Well the elections are finally over, and we hope that many, many tourists and winter dwellers will flock back to Vallarta to relax and enjoy our great lifestyle here. We see more tourists already on the streets and the turnout for the first two art walks has been great. We need to focus on optimism that we will come out of the financial crisis and that the nations of the world will finally decide to get along and quit trying to impose their ideologies on everyone else.
Secretary of State Condaleeza Rice was in Puerto Vallarta at the end of October to meet with Mexican secretary of Exterior Relations, Patricia Espinosa, working on plans to combat drug trafficking and border issues. Mayor Javier Bravo gifted Ms. Rice with a Manuel Lepe painting and a whale sculpture.
November is full of events to keep you busy. Every Saturday the Puerto Vallarta Writers group meets at the IFC Clubhouse at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 is the first meeting of the International Friendship Club at 6 p.m. with snacks (bring some). Plans for season will be discussed. The IFC Home tours are set to begin on Nov. 19/20. The tours will depart from a new location in Olas Altas at "Andale on the Bay" 513 Olas Altas next to "Blu by Len" facing "Mama Dolores" All details are available in our newsletter available at the office or please call 322-222-5466.
Wise Wo-men will hold their meeting on November 19 at 10:00 to 12:00 The speaker that day will be: Liana Turner.
* Nov. 12-15--International Sail Fish and Marlin Tournament.
* The International Gourmet Festival will start Nov. 13 to 23 with about 25 fine restaurants participating. Check Bay Vallarta for locations of special events.
* Nov. 28th --Los Mangos Public Library celebrates it´s 12th anniversary featuring the Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra.
* Nov. 29th--SPCA benefit "Evening Under the Stars" 6:30 - 11p.m. at Puerto del Cielo, (formerly Liz Taylor home) Tickets at Hacienda San Angel, Miramar 336.
